Toshiba Tecra A11-11H with Intel Core i5

The solid build Toshiba Tecra A11-11H laptop comes with an impressive reliability that enables users to handle mobile web surfing, doing documentations and many more. Although, its enclosure is made of plastic, it is really tough and its durability can handle a couple of knocks. In terms of design, the Toshiba Tecra A11-11H is not a stylish laptop but it provides a nice touch by providing the herringbone design on the chassis.
The Toshiba Tecra comes with a 15.6-inch screen, 1366-by-768 resolution, and glossy look which does not cause the usual annoying glare by sunlight when you are outside, under a bright lighting or even on the road. The laptop weighs in approximately at 2.5kg but it does make you feel heavy when carrying it due to its solid build and well-balanced weight distribution.
The Tecra A11-11H has a well-centered good size keyboard and a touchpad. On top of the keyboard, there is a button for switching on the Eco mode for reducing power consumption and also increase on its battery life.
Asus unveils new Eee PC 1201K

We all know that Asus is the inventor of netbooks. Hypothetically, without the brand, netbooks wouldn’t exist today. At the beginning, every single one of their release was the most anticipated model in the netbook’s market. Then other top brands started their own line of netbooks which many would say posed danger to Asus’ status in the market. Asus struggled and managed to still be among the top netbook’s manufacturers in the market today.
Speaking on Asus, the brand recently unveiled their new Eee PC 1201K. Coming in a Seashell design which is somehow the usual style of the Eee PC netbooks, the special feature of this netbook is its AMD chip. Usually, we find that Asus prefers the likes of Intel’s Atom processor but for this model, they chose the AMD Geode NX 1750 processor with a SiS 741GX/966L chipset.
Moving on, the netbook also comes with a 320GB hard drive and 1GB of RAM. Other features include a 0.3MP webcam and a built-in card reader. Not forgetting the 12.1-inch LED backlit WXGA display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. Asus has yet to announce the price and release date of the Eee PC 1201K.
Acer unveils Aspire One 721, 521 and 1551 netbooks

Acer has just unveiled their new netbooks. Named Aspire One 721, 521 and 1551 netbooks, these new devices come with AMD low power chipset and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4225. Let’s get more into the features of these netbooks. The Aspire One 721 comes with an 11.6 inch display with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. Not forgetting, there’s a 1.2 GHz dual core AMD Athlon Neo K325 processor and ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics. Also onboard are Ethernet, Bluetooth, HDMI, three USB ports, a 5600mAh battery, and an optional 3G module.
Moving on to the Aspire One 521, the netbook comes with a 10.1 inch with 1024 x 600 pixel display.
It works on a 1.2GHz AMD V105 single core processor and DDR3 memory. There’s also ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics. There’s an HDMI output. The netbook comes with 7 hours of battery life.
The Aspire One 1551 works on an AMD Turion II Neo dual core processor and ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics. It features an 11.6-inch display with resolution of 1366×768 pixels. Also onboard are HDMI port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and optional 3G modem.
Dell unveils the ‘Streak’

Dell has decided to go ahead with the launch of the Streak in the UK next month. The reason for this launch is that Dell wants the Streak to be released first everywhere else in Europe before launching here in the United States. The Streak happens to be a tablet computer from Dell and is somehow much anticipated but not as much as the iPad.
Earlier on when this device was leaked, many claimed the name of this Dell tablet PC was Mini 5. Dell finally unveiled its plans at the CES show back then in January. The CEO of Dell showed off the Streak tablet PC at Citrix Synergy conference earlier this month.
Dell finally made the Streak official with a statement release this week and we got to know more on the up and coming device hitting the stores soon. The Dell Streak works on an ARM-based processor. It has 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth. Not forgetting the 5-inch screen that comes with it. All we can say is we can’t wait to get our hands on this device.
CherryPal Android-Based Asia Netbook to replace the CherryPal Africa model

The manufacturer for ultra low-end computers, CherryPal, will be releasing another laptop version called the CherryPal Android-Based Asia Netbook. The new Black colored Asia Netbook features a 7-inch screen size with 8.4-inch in width, 5.6-inch in depth, 1.21-inch in height, 2.0 pounds in weight, plus 800-by-480 pixels of maximum resolution display. It is powered by Android’s operating system for catering cloud computing activities, a 533MHz ARM A9 based via 8505 processor, 256MB DDR2 RAM, 3 USB slots (1 USB 2.0 and 2 USB 1.1 ports) and 2 GB of storage capability.
It is also equipped with 2 GB NAND-flash drive, 10/100M Ethernet, WiFi 802.11 b/g, a QWERTY 86 keys keyboard, touchpad, built-in speaker and microphone, SD card, U-Disk, USB-HDD card port, and a 7.4V 2100Mha built-in Lithium battery. The price range for the CherryPal Asia netbook has been set at US$100 for a basic configurations specification, while the pricing is slightly expensive for the CherryPal Asia netbook with a 10-inch screen and webcam function which is set at US$148. As of today, the picture for the mentioned netbook is not yet available.
Alienware might launch Intel Core i7 notebook/netbook

Alienware which is a branching gaming brand from Dell is planning to release a new line of notebooks. These new notebooks will have the Intel Core i7 featured. Further reports claim that Alienware might just release these new notebooks next month, in June.
In fact, Dell did let out a word on this; the brand says that Alienware will be releasing an Intel Core i7 version of the M11x gaming laptop in June. The M11x is from Alienware and comes with an 11-inch display. It is one of the best and most affordable gaming laptop around in the market. It is available with either an Intel pentium SU4100 or Intel core 2 duo SU7300 processor.
Now, it has been said that Alienware plans to upgrade this laptop next month. It is unclear as to what exactly will Alienware be upgrading the M11x into. Sources say that Dell will be offering three options for the upgraded device which are Intel Core i3, i5 and i7.
Asus to introduce first Chrome OS at Computex 2010

This coming 1st of June, the Computex 2010 in Taipei organized by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) will be witnessing ASUS as the first company to be offering Google’s Chrome Operating System either on a netbook, smartbook or even tablet personal computer. The Chrome operating system which was supposed to be released by Google this year at last will be a reality at the Computex 2010 because this operating system is an evolution work that has been developed based on the Chrome browser.
It is designed to imbue web base applications adopting a full functionality of desktop base applications and also aiming at the growth of the netbook market, plus also cloud computing (Internet-based computing, whereby shared resources, software and information are provided to computers and other devices on-demand, like the electricity grid). The Chrome OS also relies heavily on “panels,” pop-up windows housing web-based applications that are similar to multiple open windows in a browser.
Asus officially launches the Eee PC 1201PN

Asus has officially launched its latest notebook in Germany with the price set at 479 Euros (US$608) featuring a few notable changes in its specification and also case design. Although, it looks similarly identical with the Eee PC 1201N which comes with a dual core Atom 330 CPU and NVIDIA ION graphics, the Asus Eee PC 1201PN is designed with 1GB of RAM, 160GB hard drive, a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor and next-generation NVIDIA ION graphics. The graphics would definitely be able to provide enough power to handle 1080p HD video apart from some 3D graphics.
The Eee PC 1201PN also has a 12.1-inch screen, along with 1366-by-768-pixel HD display, a 5.1 channel audio, an HDMI output that supports upscaling standard definition video for high definition display, a 6-cell 63Whr battery and 802.11b/g/n WiFi, plus Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity. Besides that, the notebook is also bundled together with ArcSoft TotalMedia Theater media player that combines well with next-generation NVIDIA ION graphics card providing the ability in supporting hardware video acceleration.
Sony unveils VAIO W Billabong special edition netbook

Sony is known to create nice and attractive netbooks or notebooks, same thing. Especially their Vaio line of notebooks and netbooks, they are splendid.
Speaking of Sony, the renowned brand recently joined hands with Billabong to release this special edition of the Vaio W laptop. Billabong happens to be a surf & snowboarding apparel brand, in case you have never heard of it. It looks very attractive with its dripping paint pattern which they have named, the Imperial Lime.
Unfortunately, since this operation was conducted by Sony Australia, we doubt that it will be making its way here soon. This small laptop (as called by Sony Australia) comes with a 10-inch LED backlit widescreen display with a 1,366 x 768 resolution. It also comes with an Intel Atom N450 processor, Windows 7 Starter, 2GB of RAM, Ethernet, USB 2.0 (x2), and a built-in webcam. The Sony Billabong VAIO W will be released in June at the price of $623.
Asus releases EeePC 1015P & 1015PE netbook

At the CeBIT show earlier in March, Asus introduced their new EeePC 1015P and 1015PE netbooks. If you remember correctly, one of these netbooks was actually leaked before the CeBIT show. Now, Asus has finally decided to unleash both netbooks into the market. Both the EeePC 1015P and 1015PE are similar in many ways but they differ when it comes to their outer looks. As such, the 1015P will be released in black, white and blue while the 1015PE will be released in black, white, blue, pink and red.
Both netbooks are powered by Intel Atom Pineview-M N450 processors so we can expect the devices to process fast and easy. They both come with a small display measuring at just 10-inch and with a resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels. Asus claims that the netbooks’ battery can last for about 13 hours after a full charge. Aside from unveiling the netbooks’ details, Asus has yet to release the date of availability and price for these devices.
