Acer unveils Aspire One D255


Acer has showed off a new netbook that can apparently run for eight hours straight after a single charge. Now Acer is singling out the “battery” factor as it is a known fact that netbooks don’t come with enough battery life. Acer is hoping to change that with its Aspire One D255.

Acer’s latest ultraportable laptop has been made thin and light, despite its long lasting battery life. It weighs 1.25kg and measures 24mm thick. This netbook is powered by a dual-core Intel Atom processor N550. The latter helps the device to have a longer lasting battery life and it also supports DDR3 memory.

The Acer Aspire One D255 netbook is equipped with Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150 and supports Microsoft DirectX 9. It comes with a 250GB HDD. It has a built-in multi-in-one card reader. It is equipped with several connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Fast Ethernet or optional 3G and optional Bluetooth 3.0+HS.

Dell Streak to receive Android 2.2 Update soon


Seems like every single device is gearing up for the Android 2.2 update and one such device is the Dell Streak. Dell has recently launched its Streak tablet, which worked on an earlier version of the Android operating system.

The Android 2.2 operating system is the latest version and many devices are hoping to implement it soon. Dell is no different when it comes to its Streak tablet. The Dell Streak so far has been immensely appreciated all over. But, experts were quite disappointed to see an old version of the Android operating system on the device.

Dell has taken to its Facebook page to announce that it will be soon releasing an update for its Streak tablet. The Dell Streak tablet is expected to receive the Android 2.2 operating system, a much awaited update for users of this Dell tablet. The Android 2.2 update is expected by the end of this month for Dell Streak users.

Sony to release Vaio Y Series Netbook in Japan


Great news for those located in Japan; Sony will soon be releasing its latest Vaio Y Series netbooks there. Sony’s Vaio Y Series is not that new actually; the series first made an appearance at the beginning, but back then the netbooks came with 13.3 inches display screens.

The new Vaio Y Series netbooks from Sony will be released with 11.6-inch display screens. It is powered an Intel Core i3-380 processor. Sources claim that these new netbooks come with either a 2GB or 8GB of RAM memory. There’s also hard drive storage of 320GB.

As mentioned above, this new line of Vaio Y Series netbooks are equipped with 11.6-inch display screens that are featured with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. The whole netbook package from Sony sounds good. Though for now, Sony hasn’t mentioned when it plans on releasing its new Vaio Y Series netbooks. Moreover, no price either has been unveiled. Toshiba Debuts 10-1-inch Smartbook AS100


What experts would like to call “Toshiba’s entry in the Android tablet market”, the Smartbook AS100 is here. Along with the Smartbook AS100, Toshiba has also unveiled another netbook/tablet, the AC100. Both currently run on Android OS v2.2.

The Toshiba Smartbook AS100 and AC100 come with a built-in 1.3-megapixel camera. The devices also come with several connectivity options such as SD card slots, HDMI and USB ports. They both have WiFi and Bluetooth. Also included on the Toshiba Smartbook AS100 and AC100 are microphone and earphone jacks. Both are powered by a 1GHz Nvidia Tegra processor. These tablets come with up to seven hours of browsing. They support video playback.

The Toshiba Smartbook AS100 measures just 14mm thin and weighs 750g. It comes ready with 8GB of storage. It has a 10.1-inch capacitative touchscreen. The other one, the Toshiba AC100 weighs 870g and it comes with 16GB of storage. It also has a 10.1-inch display with a keyboard.

HP unveils Mini 5103, the latest business class netbook


It’s hard to keep track of all these netbooks launching these days, but nevertheless it’s what we do so here goes. HP has launched, what the brand calls, a business class machine. From the eyes of many, it looks very similar, in terms of design, to the HP Mini 5102. By the looks of it, it is durable and seems about portable enough to be carried on heavy business meetings and trips.

The HP Mini 5103 netbook doesn’t come cheap though. Of course, with features as such one would expect it to that affordable. But, we do believe with an expensive price the netbook better be worth it.

HP’s Mini 5103 netbook is powered by an Intel Atom N455 processor. It comes with a 1GB RAM and a 160GB hard drive. It features a 10.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels. It comes with a 4-cell battery. The HP Mini 5103 is available now for $399. Buyers can choose among its different configurations.

What experts touted as real competition to Apple’s iPad has already landed in stores. T-Mobile and Verizon stores have welcomed the latest tablet, the Samsung Galaxy. Currently, the Samsung Galaxy Tablet is available in these mobile operators’ stores that are located in Los Angeles and the rest of US.

The Samsung Galaxy Tablet has already reached nationwide stores of T-Mobile and Verizon, but there’s a twist in this story; the Samsung Galaxy Tablet will only be sold starting tomorrow. It has been rumored that several customers managed to purchase the Samsung Galaxy Tablet from Verizon a couple of days ago.

Samsung’s Galaxy Tablet is set to release tomorrow, but experts have already decided that this device will kill the Apple iPad. It doesn’t have several features that the iPad has, but it does have several nice features that the iPad is lacking. It comes with a widescreen aspect ratio. It has stereo speakers. Let’s wait and see how far this multimedia device can go.

HP unveils all new HP Mini 210 netbook


HP is probably the only company around that keeps using the same model name and number over and over again. It’s like too hard to resist and almost too hard to let go. Unless they believe in their model name and number giving them luck then that’s a whole new different story.

With that in mind, HP has just released a new netbook that is called the HP Mini 210, which also happens to be the same model name and number of an HP’s current device. For consumers, they should be aware of buying the HP Mini 210 netbook in case they think they are buying the new version, which turns out to be the old one. The old HP Mini 210 was released earlier this year so technically it’s not that ancient.

With the new HP Mini 10, consumers have a choice of choosing their own preferred processor and graphic cards. These include the 1.66 GHz Intel Atom N455, 1.83 GHz Intel Atom N475, 1.83 GHz Intel Atom N475 + Broadcom Crystal HD video accelerator or the 1.5 GHz Intel Atom N550 dual core CPU + Broadcom HD video accelerator. So far, HP has not announced when they will be launching the new HP Mini 10.
