MSI unveils Wind U315

The new netbook from MSI has just been launched. It sports a 10.1-inch display screen that we find similar to some notebooks from HP. That aside, the screen comes with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels. The LED-backlit LCD screen does not support full-screen mode which makes us put in a little more effort when reading long pages, be it web pages or documents. The Wind U315 comes with a 250GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM, the 1.66 GHz Intel Atom N450 and it works on Windows 7 Starter Edition. It also comes with an integrated Intel GMA 3150.The most attractive feature of this netbook is probably its keyboard. It’s a keyboard ala the Chiclets-style. It is quite comfortable to use the keyboard as MSI took the pain to put in some space between the keys. We had the same feeling when we used the ASUS Eee PC 1005PE netbook back then. As for the touchpad, it’s not multi-touch, everything has to be done the ‘old fashion way’. The sound level is not that high even when tuned to the maximum level of sound. It features three USB ports, audio jacks, VGA-out, Ethernet, and an SDHC-card reader. MSI supplies an optional six-cell battery that provides 12 hours of work.
