Lenovo Multi-Touch Tablet & Netbook

By now everyone has heard about the Lenovo S10-3t which was first unveiled at the CES 2010. The netbook which also functions as a tablet when the screen is detached has been garnering lots of talks since the day it was first shown to the world. Netbooks as such are common but Lenovo is the first company to release one that supports multi touch technology. The screen can be pivoted and folded down so that in this way, the device can be used as a tablet. When creating this device, Lenovo seemed to have kept in mind of the high demand of multi-touch devices. For this, Lenovo implemented capacitive technology to offer multi-touch support in the S10-3t. We’re sure that from now onwards other companies too will jump onboard to produce convertible netbooks.
Aside from a 10.1-inch pivoting screen, the Lenovo S10-3t has a more or less 3.5 hour battery life, 1GB of DDR2 memory and a 170GB, 5400rpm HDD. For those who want longer battery life, Lenovo provide an optional six-cell battery that will last for about 7 hours. The 10.1-inch screen features 1024 x 600 resolutions. There’s also a web cam and USB ports but nothing is confirmed for these. It works on Windows 7. The price is said to be at $500. Until this convertible netbook releases, we will get to know more on its specs and details.
