Intel recently announced that they will be joining hands with big mobile companies such as Samsung & Motorola to develop, what they call, the next generation of WiMax mobile broadband technology. This new WiMax mobile broadband technology will help to provide a speed boost in 4G wireless data transfers.
These three renowned companies joined a new group called the WiMax 2 Collaboration Initiative. This new group will focus more on the development of standards and devices surrounding WiMax 2 technology. A representative for the group was quoted saying that the new standard will provide transfer rates of more than 300M bps at peak rates.
Samsung has been in the news a lot this year, particularly for the good reasons. They have been busy in launching new devices which include cell phones, notebooks and netbooks. The same goes for Motorola who’s hoping to gain a steady place in the market and in the heart of consumers.
