Doesn’t the Eee Pad sound a bit alike the iPad? Maybe but it’s an Asus device. If you remember some time back, we announced that there was a rumor on a possible tablet by Asus and now the rumor has a release date.
According to online reports, Asus will finally introduce the new Android tablet in June and further reports suggest that shipping to customers will begin by July. Asus has earlier claimed that the new device will compete with Apple’s iPad and that it will have quite a number of features that will surely appeal to its own set of consumers. Apple’s very own iPad has been creating waves with the latest being that Apple will sell around 9 million iPads this year.
A report from Taiwan suggests that Asus will call the device, Eee Pad. The tablet will have an Nvidia Tegra processor and will run on Android. It is estimated to be priced between US$479 and US$510.
