Acer will release Chrome OS Netbooks

Earlier there were reports circulating the Internet that Acer will manufacture netbooks that will run on Google’s Chrome OS. Whether that report was true, we didn’t know back then but recently at an exposition in Taiwan, Acer let the cat out of the bag by stating that they might release these Chrome OS-based netbooks by the end of this year. No additional information was given by Acer aside from that statement.

Last year, Google showed us how the Chrome OS will perform but how will Google’s operating system perform in different devices, we have yet to find out on that. Will it be fast as the current Windows 7 or will it lag like Windows’ previous versions. Further reports suggest that Acer might just release laptops, smarbooks or netbooks-based on Google’s operating system, the Chrome. Experts say they expect no surprises with the Chrome OS as basically Google’s operating system will be just like the others. Acer will be the first manufacturer to use Google’s Chrome OS and other brands are expected to follow the new trend.
