Acer will launch new 10-inch Aspire One netbook with AMD CPU

Rumor has it that Acer will soon launch a new netbook in the Aspire One range and the device is said to have a 10-inch display. The new netbook will have the usual Intel Atom chip configuration for a brand-new AMD platform.

The new model has been named Acer Aspire One 521. This model will be released with a single-core V105 processor clocked at 1.2GHz. The new processor features a 512KB L2 Cache, DDR3 support and a TDP of 9W. There’s the M880G chipset and the 45nm Geneva processor in the netbook. Also included will be Mobility Radeon HD 4225 graphics with 384MB of dedicated video memory. As mentioned before, this chipset is new and hasn’t yet featured in any device. Playing HD video should be no problem with the new processor.

The Aspire One 521 will also have an HDMI output and optional Bluetooth 3 support. There will be a compact charger and the battery featured will last for about 7 hours. As of now, there are no details on the price and availability of this device until Acer releases an official statement.
